Description
Atari Lynx Console - VGA 90 NM+/MT Sealed, Lynx Atari 1989 USA. This is our first time offering a certified Atari Lynx console, and this example has the highest grade of any of the four on VGA's July census. The Lynx was the first handheld gaming console to feature a full-color backlit LCD screen, setting it apart from the monochrome Game Boy and releasing the year before Sega's Game Gear. Developed by Epyx and Atari, the Lynx offered impressive graphical capabilities for its time, including hardware scaling and rotation-features typically seen only in arcade machines. Its ambidextrous design allowed both left- and right-handed players to enjoy the system comfortably, and it supported multiplayer gaming through a ComLynx cable. Although it struggled commercially due to its high price and limited third-party support, the Lynx developed a dedicated following. Today, sealed examples like this are very hard to find, thanks in part to relatively low sales.Auction Info
