Description

Wings Comics #1 (Fiction House, 1940) CGC VF 8.0 White pages. One of Fiction House's original titles from the early days of the Golden Age of Comics, Wings ran for an impressive 14 years. From this inaugural issue, the title was renowned for its high-flyin' action covers, like this striking grey tone-effect beauty. Like its Fiction House sister titles, Wings placed high emphasis upon its artwork, and in this issue the reader would find story art by Klaus Nordling, George Tuska, H. C. Kiefer, and Alex Blum. It's tough finding this issue at all (Gerber rates it "scarce."), much less in this nice of grade. Only two unrestored copies have earned higher than VF+ 8.5 to date. This title seems undervalued, so take aim at this terrific comic book from 1940. Overstreet 2003 VF 8.0 value = $1,494.
