Description

The Three Little Wolves Fiddler, Fifer, and Practical Pig Production Cel and The Three Little Pigs Production Background (Walt Disney, 1936). Practical is not taking any more nonsense from his two irresponsible brothers, Fiddler and Fifer, after they continuously sound the wolf alarm, calling the more responsible pig to the rescue with his musket. The Three Little Wolves is a take on "The Boy Who Cried Wolf," with Fifer and Fiddler continually setting off the wolf alarm - much to Practical Pig's exasperation. Seen near the 2:36 time mark, these images of the three pigs were hand-inked and hand-painted on 12 field nitrate. The earliest material used for animation cels was cellulose nitrate. Eventually, cellulose nitrate was replaced with cellulose acetate, making nitrate cels highly prized by collectors. The cel is trimmed to 12" x 9" and paired with a production background from The Three Little Pigs. The 12 field background was hand-painted in gouache. A fantastic setup from an early Silly Symphony short. The art exhibits tape in the margins with edge wear, pinholes, and staples. In Good condition.
