Description
"Knighty-Knight Bugs" RARE Bugs Bunny and Yosemite Sam Pair of SOLD-OUT Limited Edition Cels with Key Master Backgrounds #69/200 (Warner Brothers, c. 1958/1990s). Extraordinarily Rare! This is a superb pair of limited edition cels over the original hand-painted Key Master Backgrounds. Poised as a before and after sequence, these two images come from "Knighty Knight Bugs", the 1958 Academy Award®-winning cartoon directed by Friz Freleng (1905 - 1995). The cels show the progression of a gag, where in the first scene, Sam tries to keep his fire-breathing dragon from sneezing while both are huddled inside the castle's explosives-filled powder room. By the second scene, we see that Yosemite has failed as both he and the dragon, while still inside the same powder room, nonetheless sail upward like a rocket. The images are hand-painted on 10" x 10" acetate. The first image contains a Clampett Studio seal in the bottom left. The second image is numbered 69/100. The backgrounds are hand-painted in gouache on 12" x 12" illustration board. Both pieces are intended to be displayed together. Great 7" image of Bugs Bunny!
