Description

Little Hiawatha Production Cel (Walt Disney, 1937). Little Hiawatha tracks the tiny animals of the forest in this adorable hand-inked and hand-painted original production cel from the David Hand-directed theatrical short Little Hiawatha. Released on 5/15/1937, Little Hiawatha was inspired by the poem "The Song of Hiawatha" by Henry Wadsworth Longfellow, and it is the very last Silly Symphony short to be released by United Artists. Seen at the 4:52 mark of the cartoon, this charming cel has been trimmed to image and displayed on a woodgrain background with hand-painted elements, reminiscent of a Courvoisier Galleries setup. The piece is framed under glass with a mat window size of 6" x 6.5" and an overall frame size of 11.75" x 12" x 25". The frame is sold as-is. The cel shows some minor restoration with some paint separation on the hand, feather, headband and ankle. The condition overall is Good.
