Description

Disneyland Goofy Holding Raja the Tiger's Tail Art Corner Trimmed Production Cel (Walt Disney, c. 1950s). "I've got a tiger by the tail, it's plain to see; I won't be much when you get through with me!" So goes the old song by Buck Owens, which could well have been inspired by this great Goofy production cel from an episode of the anthology television series Disneyland, believed to be an interstitial image connected to a cartoon like 1945's Tiger Trouble, which starred Goofy as a hunter and Raja the tiger. This is a trimmed cel measuring approximately 8" x 6.5", with a 5.5" figure size for Goofy. On the backing board's reverse side is a gold foil sticker, indicating this to have been sold at Disneyland's famous Art Corner during the late 1950s-mid '60s. The cel has had professional restoration; old paint that came loose from the cel is on the paper behind the cel, all of which has been expertly replaced on the cel. Good to Very Good condition.
