Description

Mickey's Polo Team Donald Duck and Donkey Model Drawing (Walt Disney, 1936). An uncooperative Donkey gives Donald Duck a hard time in this wonderful model drawing from the 1936 Disney short Mickey's Polo Team. The David Hand-directed short saw Mickey Mouse, Donald Duck, Goody, and the Big Bad Wolf going against a team of Hollywood stars from the era, Lauren and Hardy, Charlie Chaplin, and Harpo Marx. Featured on a 12-field 5-peghole animation sheet, this hilarious image of Donald pushing his donkey, similar to the one seen at the 6:29 mark of the short, features the characters rendered in graphite measuring 5" x 2.75" and showing notes and details with red pencil. A note in graphite is seen on the bottom right corner that reads "Model Tracing Heumer," possibly referring to animator Dick Huemer. Showing light toning with minor handling and edge wear from production, the lot is in Very Good condition.
