Description

The Aristocats 32.25'' x 11.25'' Pan Production Background with Cel Overlay (Walt Disney, 1970). Madame Adelaide Bonfamille's fortune has granted her a large estate, complete with a small well-kept stable. This stunning hand-painted pan background, measuring an impressive 32.25'' x 11.25'' on 32.25'' x 12.25'' illustration board, was created for her butler Edgar's visit to the stable by Disney Legend Al Dempster (1911 - 2001). Dempster was a celebrated background artist who began working at Disney in 1939. He created work for numerous beloved feature films including Lady and the Tramp, The Sword in the Stone, Robin Hood, and The Rescuers before he retired in 1973. He signed this original in the top right corner. It is labeled 0101 for sequence 009 and scene 23 along the bottom border, though it is noted as "out of picture" to indicate that it was edited from the film (or replaced with a different version of the same scene). It presents a rare opportunity to grab this piece of production art. There are a few notes on the overlay cel, though they are slightly faded. This beautiful background exhibits light age-related toning and minor edge and handling wear with small pieces of tape on the back. Very Good condition.
