William Simpson Vamps: The Complete Collection Cover Original Art (DC, 2019). Will Simpson delivers a knockout line art cover for this book, which collects Vamps issues #1-6, Vamps: Hollywood and Vein issues #1-6, and Vamps: Pumpkin Time issues #1-3. Elaine Lee wrote the stories with Will Simpson handling both pencils and inks for this blood-soaked and violent 1994-98 Vertigo imprint series about five attractive motorcycle-riding young women who happen to be vampires (Howler, Mink, Screech, Skeeter, and Whipsnake), set in modern times; the series garnered great reviews. The art is in ink over graphite with whiteout on an 11" x 17" sheet of DC Comics Bristol board; the girls, their bikes, a full moon, and lots of rats have an image that covers most of the artboard. This is a WOW of a dynamic cover illustration - look closely for fangs! Will Simpson signed along the bottom edge of the board.
