Description

Peter Pan Captain Hook Layout Drawing by Disney Legend Frank Thomas (Walt Disney, 1953). "Blast that Peter Pan!" After years of searching, Captain Hook is still trying to catch and defeat his nemesis Peter Pan. The captain was voiced by Hans Conried and primarily animated by Disney Legend and one of Disney's "Nine Old Men" Frank Thomas (1912 - 2008), who also created the impressive 16 field layout drawing in this lot! The 13.5'' x 10.5'' color pencil layout is originally from Thomas' archive and was made in preparation for the scene at about 21:39 as Hook moodily smokes two cigars at once, pouring over a map of Neverland to once again try and find Peter's hideout. It would have helped to block out the camera angle as well as positioning in the scene. Thomas had animated other villains, including Lady Tremaine and the Queen of Hearts, and knew how to make them believable and interesting. This was especially true for Captain Hook, who was supposed to be likeable despite being a cold-hearted character. With only light handling wear and faint age-related toning, the lot is in Very Good condition.
