Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs Old Hag Early Preliminary Character Design Drawing by Bill Tytla Group of 4 (Walt Disney, 1937). "I'll go myself to the dwarfs' cottage in disguise so complete no one will ever suspect." Featured in this lot is an incredibly rare set of four preliminary character design drawings, showing early images of one of the most iconic Disney Villains, the Evil Queen as the Old Hag from Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs. These drawings that show the wicked antagonist were crafted by one of Disney's most renowned animators, the Disney Legend Bill Tytla (1904 -1968), during the early stages of the film's production. Tytla was one of the first artists assigned to work on the film and, along with Fred Moore, was in charge of animating the iconic dwarfs. Presenting an appearance more akin to the traditional image of a witch, these phenomenal drawings offer a peek into the Old Hag that could have been, offering detailed pictures of the Old Hag's hands, all rendered in graphite with red colored pencil on 12-field 5-peghole animation sheets. One of the drawings shows a fold crease on the bottom edge. Overall, the lot presents light age-related toning and minor handling and edge wear from production.
