Description

Fun and Fancy Free Bongo and Lulubelle Production Cel (Walt Disney, 1947). This is a rare production cel featuring Bongo and Lulubelle from the "Bongo" segment of Disney's fourth package film, Fun and Fancy Free. "Bongo" is the story of a circus bear cub, who was fed up with the mistreatment from the circus people, runs away from the circus to the wild and the adventures there that follow. After a failed attempt at catching a fish, he meets Lulubelle and instantly falls in love with her, but when villain-bear Lumpjaw shows up and Lulubelle playfully slaps Bongo things get confusing. Lulubelle was voiced by Dina Shore and animated by Ward Kimball. Bongo was voiced by soundman Jimmy MacDonald and animated by Art Babbit. We see this production cel at or near the 36:58 mark towards the end of the featurette. These fantastic full-body images are hand-inked and hand-painted on acetate trimmed to 8.5" x 14". The cel is matted to 13" x 16" with an aperture of 11" x 8.25". The cel exhibits some paint lifting and cracking on the tree trunks. Cel condition is Good.
