Description

Mickey's Christmas Carol Scrooge and Donald Storybook Layout Original Art by Ron Dias plus Published Page Display (Walt Disney, 1999). Ebenezer (Scrooge McDuck) recalls his now-deceased partner Jacob Marley (Goofy) who "never gave anything away" as he trudges through the snow, in this superb preliminary storybook drawing. Artist Ron Dias (1937 - 2013) worked on Disney films as an animator and background artist on The Black Cauldron, The Great Mouse Detective, and Who Framed Roger Rabbit as well as on several Don Bluth productions. The layout page from the Mickey's Christmas Carol storybook adaptation is in graphite and blue pencil on onionskin paper with typed text affixed above and below the image; the approximate size of the image is 6" x 5.5" and is hand-signed by Mr. Dias. The matching page from the published book is matted next to the art, for comparison. The mat openings measure 6.75" x 8.5" (art) and 6" x 7.5" (page), and the art is framed with glass for an overall size of 20.75" x 15". All frames are sold as-is. Photos are not representative of actual frame condition. The art is in Very Good condition with minor handling wear.
