Description
Mickey's Christmas Carol Scrooge and Donald Storybook Original Art by Ron Dias plus Film Lobby Card Group of 2 (Walt Disney, 1999/1983). Uncle Scrooge plays Ebenezer Scrooge and Donald Duck his nephew Fred in Disney's popular animated version of the holiday classic by Charles Dickens. The 1983 featurette was later adapted into a children's storybook with art by Ron Dias (1937 - 2013), and this lot includes an original page with penciled art featuring Scrooge and Donald. The graphite and blue pencil art is on onionskin paper with typed text blocks and has been matted with the published page which transformed Ron's drawings into full color renderings. The art side has an approximate opening size of 6.75" x 8.5" with two images measuring 4.75" x 3" and 4.25" x 2.75"; this page has been hand-signed in blue ink by the late Mr. Dias. The published page mat opening measures 5.5" x 7.25", and the pair are framed together with glass for an overall size of 20.25" x 15.25". The back of this frame has been hand-signed and inscribed by Mr. Dias as well. Also included is an original theatrical lobby card from the same scene; it's in a 13.25" x 8.75" mat opening (with an extra cut to show the film's title) and framed with glass for an overall size of 19.25" x 15". All frames are sold as-is. Photos are not representative of actual frame condition.
