Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs: An Art in Its Making Art Book Signed by 12 Disney Artists Who Made the Film (Walt Disney/Hyperion, 1994). This handsome out-of-print art book by Martin Krause and Linda Witkowski presents the full story of the making of Walt Disney's first animated feature Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs (1937). It was published in conjunction with the 1994 exhibition of Snow White original production art from the collection of Stephen Ison, held at the Indianapolis Museum of Art. This collection is now part of the holdings of the Walt Disney Animation Research Library. The book is illustrated throughout in full color with reproductions of Master backgrounds, animation cels and drawings, concept and story art, and more. The text covers the genesis and making of the movie, its influence, and a thorough look at the forms of art that went into its production. This copy is signed by twelve artists who worked with Walt Disney in the production of the film, including four of Walt Disney's "Nine Old Men": Ollie Johnston, animator; Frank Thomas, animator; Ward Kimball, animator; and Marc Davis, animator. It is also signed by Clair Weeks, animator; Bill Justice, animator; Ken O'Connor, art director; Joe Grant, character designer; Maurice Noble, backgrounds; Carl Fallberg, story adaptation; Adriana Caselotti, voice of Snow White; and Marge Champion, live-action model of Snow White. This is a first-rate book and collection of signatures related to the making of one of the world's landmark films. It is clothbound in dust jacket, 194 pages, measuring 11" x 9.75".
