Description

Fantasia "The Pastoral Symphony" Centaurettes Studio Model Sheet Print (Walt Disney, 1940). The centaurettes of the "Pastoral Symphony" segment of Fantasia have arrived and are even more stunning in their early iterations. There are five poses in total on the model sheet that served as suggestions for the centaurettes, who were influenced by Disney Legend Fred Moore's "Freddie's Girls". In the segment, each centaurette looks for a mate among a herd of centaurs with the help of a few cherubs and they each find their match in the end. This 14'' x 11'' model sheet would have been created from original art made in Joe Grant's model department and then printed in small quantities on photographic paper and passed around the studio as reference for animators. They are all highly collectible, especially model sheets with early designs like these, and are still an important part of the animation process that ensures each character is drawn consistently. Very Good condition with light edge and handling wear and pinholes.
