Description
Hollywood Steps Out Character Concept Drawing (Warner Brothers, 1941) This Tex Avery-directed short, set in famed Hollywood nightclub Ciro's, features caricatures of over 40 of the top stars from Hollywood's Golden Age. This original concept drawing depicting six A-listers together is a real treasure. Depicted are William Powel, Spencer Tracy, Ronald Colman, Errol Flynn, Wallace Beery, and Aubrey Smith. The scene appears around the 6:03 mark as the group watches a Sally Rand's bubble dance. The 10" x 7" image is rendered in graphite and colored pencil on 12 field Management Bond paper with the pegholes trimmed off. It's an extraordinary piece from a cartoon that helped promote Warner's biggest stars of the age. Minor handling and edge wear. Condition is Very Good.Auction Info
