Christmas Carols Little Golden Book Front Cover Illustration by Corinne Malvern Original Art plus Published Book (Simon and Schuster, 1946). Singing Christmas carols is a time-honored tradition beloved by both children and adults. Nineteen classic carols including favorites like "Silent Night" and "Joy to the World" were compiled for this Little Golden Book edition #26, with sweet artwork from former child stage/vaudeville actor turned commercial artist Corinne Malvern (1901 - 1956); she later became the highly-respected Art Editor for Ladies' Home Journal. Here is Corinne's wonderful original cover painting showing two young angels performing a song while floating over a village on a pink cloud. The art is in gouache on Bristol board that has been affixed to a backing board with a hand-cut border piece on top. The image size is approximately 10" x 12.5" while the overall board size is 12.5" x 15.25". A sixth-edition copy of the published book is included.
