Description
Elmer Elephant Original Picture Book/Publicity Art Group of 2 (Walt Disney, 1936). Revisit the story of the Silly Symphony short Elmer Elephant with this pair of original picture book/publicity art featuring our titular protagonist's misfortune and happy ending. The Wilfred Jackson-directed short debuted on March 28, 1936, telling the story of Elmer, an elephant teased because of his long nose, and saving the day with that very nose! Both done in ink and pen, these illustrations show Elmer being bullied by Joey Hippo and a mischievous tiger (measuring an image size of 9.25" x 5.5"), and our eponymous character holding hands with Tillie Tiger with the inscription "The end" beneath them (6" x 8.25"). The illustration of Elmer being bullied has a small piece missing from the top right corner, not affecting the art. Both pictures show some toned areas and faint staining. In Good to Very Good condition with minimal handling and edge wear from production.Auction Info
