Description

Dr. Seuss' How the Grinch Stole Christmas Max and the Sled Production Cel and Animation Drawing (MGM, 1966). "Ten thousand feet up, up the side of Mount Crumpet, he road with his load to the tiptop to dump it!" Grinch's dog Max swings wildly as he hangs from the precarious tip of the mountain, in a key scene from this Chuck Jones-directed holiday classic. Here's the original hand-painted 12 field production cel from this moment, as seen at the 19:46 mark. The image of the overloaded sled and tethered dog Max swinging it around and back has an approximate image size of 6" x 5.5", not including some of the snow Max dislodges as he drags his hind leg through it. The cel has been noted as 13 in the lower right corner; the matching graphite and blue pencil animation drawing is also included. Condition is Very Good with minor handling and edge wear.
