Disney's Aladdin: The Making of an Animated Film First Edition Hardcover Book with 6 Signatures by Animation Crew Members (Walt Disney/Hyperion, 1992). Trailblazing Disney historian John Culhane (1934 - 2015) takes readers on a fantastic adventure of animated film production through the pages of this first edition book, Disney's Aladdin: The Making of an Animated Film. Author John Culhane was the cousin of famed animator Shamus Culhane, and served as the inspiration for Mr. Snoops in The Rescuers (1977). He met Walt Disney in 1951 at the age of 17 through Walt's daughter Diane, and in the 1970s, he was hired in the publicity department of the Walt Disney Company. This book, like Culhane's other Disney animation entries Walt Disney's Fantasia (1983) and Fantasia/2000: Visions of Hope (1999), takes an in-depth look into the magical mix of inspiration, technology, talent, and love that go into an animated Disney feature film. This copy is signed by six of The Walt Disney Studios artists who produced the film: John Musker, director/producer/writer; Ron Clements, director/producer/writer; Glen Keane, supervising animator (Aladdin); Andreas Deja, supervising animator (Jafar); Randy Cartwright, supervising animator (Magic Carpet); and Eric Goldberg, supervising animator (Genie). The out-of-print book has a clothbound spine with a dust jacket and 120 pages, measuring 8.75" x 11.25". A Howard Lowery Certificate of Authenticity verifying the legitimacy of the signatures is included. Fine condition with light handling.Auction Info
