Description
Horus, Prince of the Sun Hilda Color Model Cel and Color Model Drawing (Toei Animation, 1968). Hilda is the focus of the graphite with color pencil color model drawing and hand-painted color model cel in this lot! Hilda is the evil Grunwald's sister and is under his control for most of the film, forced to fight Horus and hurt the people in his village. She was designed by influential character designer, animator, and children's book artist Yasuji Mori (1925 - 1992), who worked on a variety of films and series including Hustle Punch, Gulliver's Space Travels: Beyond the Moon, and Fables of the Green Forest. Other renowned artists like Hayao Miyazaki, Yasuo Otsuka (1931 - 2021), and Yoichi Kotabe also contributed to the film. The full figure character was created for the scene at about 50:06 and measures about 1.25'' x 4'' on both the 16.5'' x 9.75'' drawing and 18'' x 10'' cel. The color model drawing would have been created to help the character stay consistent regardless of the scene and the drawing includes a variety of color codes. The cel is marked A5 and the drawing A-12. Good condition overall with light edge and handling wear, faint age-related toning, minor curling, and the cel adhered to the drawing below.Auction Info
