Description

Mickey Mouse Fan Club Film Animation Drawings Sequence of 9 (Walt Disney, 1929). Mickey does a complete 360-degree flip in this very impressive sequence of nine rare original 12 field animation drawings. This version of the Mickey Mouse Fan Club was many years before the well-known television series and was in fact a theater event held in over 60 theaters across the US where Mickey Mouse cartoons were shown. The first Mickey Mouse Club began at the Fox Dome Theater in Ocean Park, California and quickly spread across the United States. The clubs met for cartoon matinees at their local theaters and the promo short these drawings were created for was used to promote the club and bring in new members. This sequence is drawn in graphite, some with green pencil shadow outlines; approximate image sizes range from 2.75" x 3" to 2.5" x 3.5". The drawings are in Very Good condition with minor handling and edge wear and very light age-related paper toning.
