The Popeye Valentine Special Popeye and Olive Oyl Publicity/ Color Model Cel (Hanna-Barbera, 1979). A magnificent publicity cel featuring Popeye and Olive Oyl from The Popeye Valentine Special: Sweethearts at Sea. It's Valentine's Day, and Popeye has forgotten to send Olive a valentine, so she decides to assert her independence by taking the Valentine's Day Sweetheart Cruise. The cel was hand-painted at Hanna-Barbera's ink and paint department on 12 field acetate and placed over a blue color card for presentation purposes. The artwork was used for press kits and consumer products like toys, clothing designs, books, and calendars. This is an adorable image of the two sweethearts! Mild production handling and wear.
