Description

The Wayward Canary Mickey Mouse Animation Drawing (Walt Disney, 1932). Mickey and Pluto manage to completely wreck Minnie's house, in this Burt Gillett-directed short that hit theaters on 11/12/32. It starts innocently enough, with Mickey's gift to Minnie of a canary in a bird cage; soon, the canary's hatchlings come out and end up in an "ink bath." Rounding up the last of the baby birds causes the destruction. Here is an original production drawing from the scene where Mickey crashes into Minnie's greenhouse while chasing the last baby bird. It can be seen around the 5:52 mark in the cartoon. The drawing is noted as number 29 and shows the crashed greenhouse. The artwork was rendered in graphite on 12 field, 2-peghole animation paper. The pegholes have been reinforced by the studio. Light age-related paper toning and minor handling wear. Overall condition is Very Good.
