Description
Astro Boy Production Cel with Key Master Background (Tezuka Productions, c. 1980-81). Prepared for every occasion, Astro Boy uses the torch in his finger to light a fire and illuminate his way. Astro measures a 5" x 6.5" figure size on the hand-painted 12 field size production cel. The top cel has the amazing effect of Astro's torch, while the bottom cel has the character holding a branch. The setup is presented on its rare Key Master background, which is rendered in gouache on background board. Both cels are stuck together, and they show some surface scuffing and scratches that don't affect the art. There is some light ink fading on the linework, and tape on the top and bottom edges of the setup. The background has some tape residue on the edges of the board. The lot has some handling wear from production use, and the condition is Good.Auction Info
