Description
Lady and the Tramp Lady, Tramp, Trusty, and Jock Color Model Cel (Walt Disney, 1955). From Disney's unforgettable 1955 animated film Lady and the Tramp, we have in this lot a remarkable hand-painted and hand-inked color model cel featuring wonderful full-figure images of our titular couple, accompanied by Trusty and Jock. This romantic movie was born out of storyman Joe Grant's experiences of his dog being shoved aside when his baby was born, later incorporating aspects of the Ward Greene story "Happy Dan, The Cynical Dog". Featuring the production code for this film on the bottom edge (2079), this astounding color model cel shows a cheery Lady measuring 3.25" x 3" facing a 3.5" x 3.75" Tramp, with the calm Trusty showing a figure size of 3.5" x 4.75", and the 3" x 2.75" Jock. The cel has been trimmed to measure 15.75" x 9" and is displayed on a printed background for presentation purposes. Pinholes can be seen in the bottom area of the cel. Some paint is missing from Lady. In Fair to Good condition with some handling and edge wear from production.From the Ken O’Connor Archive.
