Description
The Black Cauldron The Horned King's Castle Concept/Color Key Painting by James Coleman (Walt Disney, 1985). "Soon the Black Cauldron will be mine... Its evil power will course through my veins..." The evil Horned King's castle is eerily lit by a flash of lightning in this magnificent original concept painting from the development of The Black Cauldron. This animated cult classic was adapted from Lloyd Alexander's fantasy series The Chronicles of Prydain, telling the story of a young boy who must thwart the machinations of a wicked king and his army of undead "Cauldron Born." This spectacular painting is rendered in gouache on board by Disney concept/background artist and art director James Coleman, also known for his prolific career as a fine art painter. This piece is presented in a 16.5" x 21" frame with a mat window size of 6.5" x 11". The frame bears the signature of the artist on the back. All frames are sold as-is. Photos are not representative of actual frame condition. Well preserved in the frame, the piece shows minimal handling, and the condition is Very Good.From the James Coleman Collection.
