Black Cauldron Pan-Sized 40" x 6" Horned King's Castle Dungeon Color Key by James Coleman (Walt Disney, 1985). Explore the depths of the Horned King's dungeon with this astonishing Pan-Sized color key, created by the proficient background artist James Coleman for Disney's cult-classic animated feature The Black Cauldron. Renowned for his work as a background painting in The Rescuers and as a color stylist in films like The Fox and the Hound and The Great Mouse Detective, Coleman delivers in this gigantic 40" x 6" color key a sequence of five incredible panels depicted in gouache. These panels, each measuring image sizes of about 7.75" x 5.5", show a dark cell of the Horned King's dungeon, slowly illuminated by a tile being lifted, from where the hand of Eilonwy emerges, brightening the room with her Golden Pelydryn, images that help in the planning for the scene at the 26:50 timestamp of the movie. The four corners show crumpling; otherwise, the lot displays light handling and edge wear from production. In Very Good condition.
