Description

Edrien Love's Sweet Design Dustjacket Original Painting (Avalon Books, 1987). Avalon often varied its love-story formula to include professions other than medicine -- this one tackles a troubled romance among building engineers. Hospital or homebuilding trade, Edrien was always there to deliver the irresistible cover art, and in fact many collectors were drawn more by his artwork than by the individual authors or topics. Here is a fine example of Edrien's ability to present two paintings in a single composition: The front-cover image (right) blends with the spine image (left). The smaller figure was designed to appear alone when the book would have been shelved. Includes title-card overlay, with production notes. Opaque watercolors (dry-brush effects) on deep-texture illustration board. Image area, 9.75" x 12.25". Moderate age-toning, with marginal adhesive staining. Very Good condition.
