Edgar Church September IT Magazine Preliminary Cover Original Art (Ideal Art Service, 1940). Church was a prolific commercial artist with a long career that included spot illustrations for the Yellow Pages, and covers for many small and local publications. He could transform any commercial subject-matter into elegant art. (Church also developed the legendary Mile High Collection of first-generation comic books). Created in ink and wax pencils over graphite on Bristol board with an image area of 12.25" x 18.5" and is accompanied by a color-key overlay. Creasing and tears in the overlay, the board is toned, has edge and handling wear, and creases with soft corner bumps. In Very Good condition.
