Description
Walt Disney Signed Letter and Publicity Photo Framed Display (Walt Disney, 1961). A Christmas concert was performed by the University of Southern California's Massed Choir, directed by Dr. Charles C. Hirt (1911 - 2001). In attendance for this December 17, 1961 concert was Walt Disney (1901 - 1966), who was impressed enough to write a note of thanks to Dr. Hirt. Here is Walt's hand-signed (in blue ballpoint pen) typed note on his personal stationery, dated the day after Christmas, December 26, 1961. Dr. Hirt would go on to help inaugurate Walt Disney World, as well as direct the thousand-voice ensembles that opened and closed the 1984 Olympics. The note is matted with an opening of 5.25" x 7", along with a black and white publicity photo of Walt in an aperture measuring 6" x 8.5" and a brass plate. The matted items are in an elaborate wooden frame with glass, which includes a Walt Disney World gold sticker in the lower left corner from a sale at the Florida theme park. The frame measures 20.75" x 18.75", and includes a Disney World Guarantee of Authenticity plus a printed article on Dr. Hirt on back. All frames are sold as-is.
