Description
Pluto Wooden Sculpture Prototype (Walt Disney, 2007). Mickey's best pal Pluto raises a curious ear in this exceptionally rare handcrafted prototype sculpture. The piece is made of wood, hand-carved and detailed to depict the lovable pup at his most adorable. Multiple colors of natural wood are used to make Pluto's distinctive features stand out. The prototype, it was used to pitch a line of wooden figures to Disneyland buyers and is dated 2007/10/25 under its base. Originally planned for sale at Disneyland, the line was deemed too expensive to produce and did not go into production. While the figure is missing his tail, it is because the factory determined that it would be too fragile. Plans to add a wire tail, or paint one on the character's body were nixed, and so was a second prototype, making this a genuine one-of-a-kind treasure. The piece measures about 7" x 3", with a height of about 4". It is in Very Good condition, with some handling and edge wear.More information about Walt Disney Studios - Fab Five.
