Sleeping Beauty and the Good Fairies Little Golden Book Interior Illustrations by Julius Svendsen Original Art Group of 13 plus #D71 Published Book (Walt Disney/Simon & Schuster, 1958). Here's a very impressive bundle of original artwork from a treasured Little Golden Book, released shortly before the movie opened in January, 1959. Every little girl dreams of being a beautiful princess like Princess Aurora, and she's here with her Good Fairies - Flora, Merryweather, and Fauna, as the Princess returns for a visit after her marriage to Prince Phillip. The wonderful artwork is Disney storyboard artist Julius Svendsen (1919 - 1971). Included is the Title Page image, approximately 5" x 4.75"; page 3, image 6.5" x 6.25"; page 4, image 5.25" x 5.25"; page 6, image 5.25" x 5.25"; page 8, image 5.5" x 6"; page 9, image 5.5" x 5.75"; page 10, image 5" x 6.25"; page 12, image 6.5" x 6.5"; page 13, image 5.5" x 6.25"; page 18, image 6.5" x 6.25"; page 21, image 6.5" x 7"; page 23, image 6.75" x 5.75"; and page 24, with two images, 5.5" x 3.5" and 3.75" x 2"; this last image is pasted in place, all others are painted directly on the page boards with text. Some of the text blocks are coming loose. The gorgeous brightly colored art is painted in gouache; the page boards are on various-sized pieces of illustration board, with an average size of 8.5" x 11". A few boards have old rubber cement stains that do not affect the images; otherwise, the condition is Very Good with minor handling. A first edition ("A") copy is included.Auction Info
