Description

The Little Mermaid Ariel and Ursula Production Cel (Walt Disney, 1989). "Before the sun sets on the third day, you've got to get dear old Princie to fall in love with you!" Here's a dramatic original production cel featuring Ariel-the Sea King's seventh daughter-and the formidable sea witch Ursula from Disney's blockbuster The Little Mermaid. From the "Poor Unfortunate Souls" sequence (around the 41:35 mark), this moment finds Ursula tightening her persuasive grip, drawing Ariel close as she spells out the perilous terms of their bargain. Villain songs roared back in the Disney Renaissance, and Ursula's smoky showstopper led the charge-equal parts seduction and menace. Hand-painted on 16-field acetate, the image is a frame-filling closeup that showcases expressive faces, elegant linework, and opulent color-inky purples against Ariel's luminous coral and teal. The cel is paired with a print background for context and framed under Plexiglas to an overall 22.25" x 17", with a 13.5" x 8" mat aperture. A standout display piece, it embodies the film's theatrical flair and high-stakes storytelling and is accompanied by a Disney Enterprises COA. Historically significant, The Little Mermaid was the studio's final feature to utilize hand-painted production cels, making screen-used art from this film especially prized. In Very Good condition-an iconic confrontation from a defining moment in Disney animation. All frames are sold as-is. Photos are not representative of actual frame condition.
