Description

Disneyland - It's a Small World Model Sheet Print by Alice Davis Group of 12 (Walt Disney, 1964). Disney Legend Alice Davis' (1929 - 2022) stunning designs for the Middle East, Central Africa, South Africa, and North Africa come to life in this exceptional group of 12 personal model sheet prints used to create the detailed costumes for the Audio-Animatronics® children in the "It's a Small World" attraction of the 1964-1965 New York World's Fair. Alice Davis, along with fellow Disney Legends Mary Blair, Harriet Burns, and Joyce Carlson, created unique costumes for over 150 countries. These prints helped the artists and designers keep the costumes consistent with Alice's original designs with detailed printed notes that go over the various colors and materials of different areas of the costumes, from the fabric and color of the characters' veils to the accents on a bracelet. Each print was created on 14'' x 17'' paper and a similar drawing appears on page 223 of Marc Davis' In His Own Words Imagineering the Disney Theme Parks Part 1 by Pete Docter and Christopher Merritt. A print of the page and cover of the book has been included as reference. The lot is in Very Good condition with light edge and handling wear and faint age-related toning.
