Description
Æon Flux "Mirror" Æon Flux Production Cel with "Pilot" Preliminary Background (MTV Animation, 1991-92). We have in this lot a fantastic hand-painted production cel from Peter Chung's cult-classic animated series Æon Flux, showcasing a dynamic image of our titular protagonist on a preliminary background from the "Pilot" episode. This 12-field cel shows a full-figure image as she appears at the 2:57 mark of the short episode featured on MTV's Liquid Television, "Mirror," showing Æon without one of her gloves and hair partially down, measuring 4.25" x 5.25". The fantastic preliminary background showcases a very similar image to what we can see at the 6:32 mark of "Pilot," showing slight differences in the design, rendered in gouache on a 14" x 10.25" background board and showcasing the distinctive overlay cel with the linework. Toned tape can be seen on the sides of the overlay cel. The production cel is taped to the overlay with archival artist tape. In Very Good condition with overall minor handling and edge wear from production.From the Personal Archive of Æon Flux Director Peter Chung.
