Arthur Rackham The Zankiwank and the Bletcher Witch Page 173 Preliminary Sketch Original Art (Alpine House EC, 1896). Arthur Rackham's works have become very popular since his death, both in North America and Britain. He is widely regarded as one of the leading illustrators from the 'Golden Age' of British book illustration, and his images have been widely used by the greeting card industry and in popular classic literature tales. At just 29 years old, his first work was for the S.J. Adair Fitzgerald book The Zankiwank and the Bletcher Witch, offered here is a preliminary sketch for that book. Created in ink on paper with an image area of 8.5" x 9" matted to 14" x 15". There is overall toning, foxing spots, adhesive residue on the back top margin, slight wear to bottom edge, wear to corners, and the art is taped to mat on the left edge. In Very Good condition.
