Arthur Rackham The Zankiwank and the Bletcher Witch Page 60 Preliminary Sketch Original Art (Alpine House EC, 1896). Arthur Rackham's works have become very popular since his death, both in North America and Britain. He is highly regarded as one of the leading illustrators from the 'Golden Age' of British book illustration, having many of his works paired with popular classic literature tales. His images have also been widely used by the greeting card industry. At 29 years old, his first work was for the S.J. Adair Fitzgerald book The Zankiwank and the Bletcher Witch, offered here is a preliminary sketch from that book. Created in graphite on paper with an image area of 3.5" x 6" and matted to 14" x 15". There is overall toning, foxing spots, adhesive stain on the top margin, wear to edges, and is taped to mat on the left edge. In Very Good condition.More information about Arthur Rackham.
