Mad #8 (EC, 1953) CGC VF/NM 9.0 Off-white to white pages. Shortly after its classic "Superduperman!" parody, Mad gave us the equally riotous "Bat Boy and Rubin!" in this issue, with art by Wally Wood. Also in the issue: another Lone Ranger parody drawn by Jack Davis as well as a spoof of Frankenstein (drawn by Bill Elder) and reprints of some of Harvey Kurtzman's "Hey Look" one-page features. The cover is also by Kurtzman. Overstreet 2014 VF/NM 9.0 value = $765; NM- 9.2 value = $1,050. CGC census 8/14: 2 in 9.0, 5 higher. From the Gary Arlington Collection.
