Description

Robert Crumb A Short History of America Amended Limited Edition Poster #237/250 (Kitchen Sink Press, 1997). Underground Comix master Crumb's most popular and timeless composition, the poster shows environmental deterioration from wilderness to urban blight. It first appeared in black-and-white in 1979 in the ecological magazine Co-Evolutionary Quarterly and in Snoid Comics. Rearranged and tinted by Peter Poplaski in 1981, the piece became a bestseller. During the 1990s, Crumb added three panels. This 15-panel expansion suggests possible futures: ecological disaster, a high-tech metropolis, and an "ecotopian solution." Measures 18" x 21" on deckled-edge stock. Excellent condition.
