Description

Edgar Martin Boots and Her Buddies Daily Comic Strip Original Art dated 10-5-40 (NEA Service, Inc., 1940). Tomboy Pug High impresses Aunt Cora Tutt with a newfound interest in fashion -- until Pug reveals her roughhouse motivations. These popular-favorite characters often upstaged title character Boots Ruggles as Martin matured the feature beyond its original glamour-girl theme. Here is a beautifully designed composition, enhanced by a unique back-slanting style of lettering and semi-squared dialogue balloons. Martin's decorative signature is a work of art in itself. Ink over graphite on Bristol board. Image area, 20" x 4.5". Lightly toned and in Excellent condition.
