Description
Ford TV Commercial Production Cel and Background Setup (Playhouse Pictures, 1955). "Test drive it at your Ford dealers!" Original hand-painted production cel of the little Ford Bird who is seen coughing in the exhaust of a new 1956 Ford, speeding by with an enthusiastic new owner behind the wheel. Starting in the mid-1950s, Playhouse Pictures developed some great stylized animated spots for Ford, many of which included swinging beat-era jazz soundtracks. This setup can be seen at the 19 second mark in the 20 second spot. Image is just under 2" tall, with paint separation/paint loss on the gray painted area of the bird. Framed with glass and matted with an opening of 11" x 8", and overall size of 17" x 13". Good condition.Auction Info
