Description

A.W. Mackenzie Mackenzie Editorials Opinion-Panel Comic Strip Original Art Group of 3 (New York Post/New York Mirror, 1945). Mackenzie's hatred of the Axis Powers kept him as busy as his distaste for big U.S. government. Two of these pieces find Adolf Hitler in a deteriorating condition -- more than mere wishful thinking, as things turned out. A third depicts John Q. Public (an editorial-cartoon Everyman, created by fellow artist Vaughn Shoemaker) at the mercy of irresponsible bureaucracies. All are signed. Ink, graphite, and crayon on pebble-grain Coquille board. Image areas, 9" x 11" to 10" x 14". Moderate to pronounced age-toning. Very Good condition.
