Description

Pinocchio "Give a Little Whistle" Animation Drawing (Disney, 1940) "Give a little Whistle!" One of the cheerful musical numbers that takes place early in the film, as Pinocchio's newly-elected "Official Conscience", Jiminy Cricket, teaches the wooden boy how to whistle - and sing - and dance! Absolutely wonderful drawing with a charming expression on Pinocchio's face - the detail on his Tyrolean costume is on full display here. He has just tried to "capture a whistle" in his small feathered cap, and expects the echo to whistle back! The drawing also has an added shadow effect and corresponding notes to the inkers and painters who would be the next ones to see the drawing in the animation production "assembly line". This beautiful piece measures nearly 7" tall. Pinocchio is rendered in graphite and colored pencil. There are registration marks, sequential numbering, and notes to the ink and paint department throughout. In the bottom left corner, stamped text reads "Prod 2003 Seq 16 Scene 15". Slight yellowing due to age, minor handling and edge wear. In Fine condition.
