Description
Virgil Ross - Bugs Bunny and Dr. Jekyll Drawing (Warner Brothers, c. 1990s). Bugs goes home with kindly Dr. Jekyll in this original drawing by legendary animator Virgil Ross (1907 - 1996), who began his long career in the early 1930s. His first Looney Tunes short was Gold Diggers of '49 (1935), directed by Tex Avery. Mr. Ross worked in Avery's animation unit, and later with the Bob Clampett and Friz Freleng units. He worked on what is considered the first official Bugs Bunny cartoon, A Wild Hare (1940). Mr. Ross spent some 30 years at Warner Brothers before moving on the other studios, most notably with Hanna-Barbera and Filmation. Original drawings like this were offered at personal appearances by Mr. Ross as he promoted his line of Limited Edition cels at Warner Brothers stores and licensed galleries. This signed drawing is matted with an opening of 11.5" x 8.5", and is framed using glass for an overall size of 17" x 14". Frame is sold as-is. Art condition is Fine.More information about Virgil Ross. See also: Ross, Virgil Artist.
