E. C. Segar Thimble Theater Starring Popeye Daily Comic Strip Original Art Dated 6-26-37 (King Features, 1937). In this story arc titled "A Sock for Susan's Sake", Popeye is lost, and helps a young woman who has fallen on hard times. But never fear, for Eugene the Jeep is on the trail, and Olive Oyl is on the "beat"! A real treat for collectors, Eugene the Jeep is a fan-favorite to this day, and this strip hails from within the first 10 months of the Jeep's first appearance in the strip (November 6, 1936). The art is in ink and graphite on Bristol board, with an approximate image area of 20.5" x 4.5". Moderate toning, and some handling wear; otherwise, Very Good condition.
