Description

Frank Willard Moon Mullins Sunday Comic Strip Original Art (Chicago Tribune, c. 1930). Created in 1923, Moon Mullins ran in papers until 1991. Frank Willard, creator of the strip worked on it until his death in 1958, however his assistant Ferd Johnson continued the strip until he retired with it in 1991. Created in ink over graphite on Bristol board with an image area of approximately 18.5" x 23". Each frame was drawn on a separate sheet, cut and pasted onto a larger board, and the edges filled in to fit the frame. There is a bit of staining around the paste-ups and glue staining on the right side. The title tier is missing.
