Description

Jerry Grandenetti - Mystery/Horror Magazine Panel Page Original Art (c. 1980s). Grandenetti scored in his youth as a Will Eisner protègé and emulator, but Grandenetti flowered during the 1960s as an original stylist -- especially well-suited to surreal horror yarns. This prime example from an undocumented source finds the artist at a mood-building peak, with all the hallmarks of eccentric lettering, disorienting film noir angles, and emphatic sound effects. Ink and grayscale watercolor over graphite on Bristol board, with knife-scratching highlights. Image area, 12" x 16.5". Faint toning. Excellent condition.
