Description

Two-Gun Mickey Mickey, Minnie and Pete Color Model/Animation Drawing (Walt Disney, 1934). This animated oater starred Mickey, Minnie, and Bandit Pete, and is considered one of Mickey's great early roles. Here they are riding off into the sunset with Pete, wrapped up in a cactus, in tow. This classic short was directed by Ben Sharpsteen and released in theaters in December of 1934. Presented here is an original animation drawing/color model from the final scene at the 9:09 mark. Though the short was filmed in black and white, color models were created to help guide the cel painters in the correct shades of gray to use. The result is often a few wildly colorful production drawings like this one, rendered in graphite and colored pencil on 12 field 2-peghole paper. The image measures approximately 6" x 7", is marked Sc #60 A 2nd cell, and numbered 43 in the top right corner. This an exceptional piece both in color and composition from a historic early Mickey and Minnie cartoon. Minor handling and toning. Condition is Very good.
